We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God, given by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them. We believe that the sixty-six Books of the Bible are inerrant in the original documents, infallible, and God-breathed. In this Word, God has committed to man the knowledge necessary for salvation. The Holy Scriptures are the infallible revelation of His will. They are the standard of character, the test of experience, the authoritative revealer of doctrines, and the trustworthy record of God's acts in history. (2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17; Ps. 119:105; Prov. 30:5, 6; Isa. 8:20; John 17:17; 1 Thess. 2:13; Heb. 4:12.)
We believe in a step-by-step study of God’s word. We are committed to studying one chapter per day hence our motto, “Proclaiming God’s Word, One chapter at a Time!” Bible study is more than Bible reading. Bible study begins with reading the passage, observing the details of the passage, and identifying the main ideas and themes. We ask tough questions like, what is the relevance of this chapter today? What commands, specific sins to avoid, life principles, but most importantly, what/ where is the voice of God? This is the foundation premise of TGV, hence, “The Gospel’s Voice.”
The word “gospel” means the good news of salvation through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Jesus primarily came to die on the Cross (Matthew 1:21; Luke 19:10; Isaiah 53:4-6, 10-11). The Old Testament priesthood and sacrifices could not take away sin (Hebrews 10:11), but when Christ [the spotless Lamb of God, John 1:29] was sacrificed (for us) on the Cross, the Father was satisfied, and our debt was paid in full, thereby securing our salvation. Because of Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross, those who place their faith and trust in Him alone for salvation are guaranteed eternal life (John 3:16). Here at The Gospel’s Voice, the cross of Jesus is our main message, argument, and doctrine; for the Man on the cross (Jesus Christ) is the only Hope to this dying world, the only Hope to every repentant sinner, yes, the Blessed Hope! (Titus 2:13).
Contemplating this theme, the apostle Paul wrote: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20, NKJV). If we had a vivid view of the Cross, we would hate sin, love righteousness, and strive for holiness (1 Peter 1:16; Matthew 5:48). “For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2, NKJV). “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, NKJV). The gospel is a bold message, and we are not ashamed of proclaiming it. The gospel (the Cross) is “the good news.” To reject the gospel is to embrace the bad news – the condemnation before God (cf. John 3:17). Beloved, God has given this doomed planet good news: the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We hope you will embrace this message and take it with you wherever you go.
The Globe represents the entire universe. Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14, NKJV). Jesus said that the gospel (the message of salvation) would be preached worldwide before His return. This was the apostles’ mission—and it is ours. Spreading the good news of salvation to everyone is our duty, mission, and urgency. “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37–38, NKJV) According to the statistics, of the 5.8 billion people worldwide, 1.2 billion (around 20%) have yet to hear the Gospel. In Tanzania, for example, a 2020 estimate by Pew Research Center revealed that 63.1% of the population is Christian, 34.1% Muslim, 1.2% practices traditional religions, and 1.5% is unaffiliated. There is more work to be done! We intend to heed Christ’s call, “the Great Commission,” and impact the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have started with the internet and translation (a work in progress: Translating Bible Study Guides into Kiswahili). Our next step will be broadcasting (plans are underway). We are also opening an Evangelism Training Center –(see What We Do).
“Lift up the Trumpet, and loud let it ring! Jesus is Coming Again!” [Author: Jessie E. Strout] was our first evangelistic theme song. The song became popular, and we decided to incorporate it into the TGV logo. In the Old Testament, trumpets were used to alert Israel to be ready for the Great Day of Atonement. In the New Testament, in Revelation 14:6-12, three angels are seen “flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Revelation 14:6–7, NKJV)
Beloved, we believe that this world is soon ending and that “Jesus is Coming Again!” Open your eyes and look around. The “Signs of the Times” that Jesus discussed in Matthew 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13 – have all been fulfilled. We are living in the Last Hour! (1 John 2:18). We are living between the “Two Advents” –(the First Advent and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ). We are leaving between the “It Is Finished” and the “It Is Done” (John 19:30; Rev 21:6). And soon the voice will be heard, “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” (Revelation 22:11, NKJV) for God’s mercy will end, and the door of probation will be closed.
God, in His mercy, has given this world over 6,000 years –(grace time) to get right with Him. Remember, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NIV) He desires that you return to Him in prayer (and supplication), repentance, and sincerity of heart.
We are living in the day of the sounding of the 7th trumpet. Open your eyes and look around: we are on the verge of seeing Jesus in his glory. Yes, Jesus is coming again! But how many of us are ready for Him? The time is now to get right with God. The time is now to repent our sins, to watch and pray, and yes, to “trim our lights” and “wash our robes” for the Bridegroom Cometh!
Beloved, we need to wake up and be cognizant of the fact that Jesus is coming again! Believe it, teach it, proclaim it, and live it. Are you ready? Am I ready? May the Lord help us to make every conscious decision in light of His coming and be prepared for His glory when He appears.
May the Holy Spirit bid us to read, listen, and hear His voice, Yeah, “The Gospel’s Voice,” repent and heed the gospel. Why? “For the hour of His judgment has come.”
“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” (Revelation 1:3, NKJV)
“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” (Revelation 1:7, NKJV)
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:12–14, NKJV)
