THE ANCIENT OF DAYS.
101-NTJ, (Daniel 7:9, 13, 22).
Exploration: Impartial judgment— (Gal 6:7; 2 Cor 5:10; Psa. 62:12; 2 Cor 5:10, Rev. 20:12)
The title “Ancient of Days” is found only in the prophetic passages of Daniel 7:9, 13, and 22. In verse 13, the term refers to God the Father. In verse 22, the term can also refer to God the Son because He was making a judgment in favor of the saints of “the Most High.” In this vision, Daniel sees a human-like being approaching God’s throne to receive eternal kingdom on planet Earth (cf. Dan 2:44). This must be Jesus Christ—the divine Son of God (Mt. 26:63–64; 27:54; Mk1:1)—who also spoke of Himself as “the Son of Man.” You will recall that Adam lost the Earth’s title deed to Satan in Eden when he disobeyed God (Gen 2:17; 3:17-19, 23, 24), but Christ regained it when He conquered Satan on the Cross (Rev. 12:10).
Would you also note two significant phrases here—“the court was seated,” and “the books were opened.” (Dan 7:10c). This is a judgment scene in Heaven just before the Second Coming. The point is this: There is a judgment (pre-advent judgment) in session as we speak. Jesus Christ is the Judge, and He will judge each one according to their deeds (Rom 2:6). It is also interesting to learn that the judgment spoken of here will be given in favor of the saints (Dan 7:22). Paul says that “the saints shall judge the world” (1 Cor. 6:2). Compare (Ps149:9; Mt 19:28. Lk 22:30; Jude 14-15; Rev 2:26-27; 3:21; 20:4). Beloved, the saints will assist in the work of judging the world during the 1000 years. Here is the question. If Jesus is the Judge, the King, the Saviour, the Way (Jn 14:6), and the only Mediator between God and men (1 Tim 2:5), wouldn’t it be wise to obey Him now if we are truly serious about our pilgrimage into the Heavens?
That’s “TGV Daily.” Until Next Time— the Judgment is Set!
Exhortation: “And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So, you must live in reverent fear of Him during your time here as “temporary residents.” (1 Peter 1:17, NLT)
